I have painted a Yokai that has an emoticon and legend!👺
I painted a yokai with emoticon and a legend ✨👺
English below ⬇️

When I was in the forest last Sunday, looking for inspiration 🌳 the idea of yokai in the forest came to me🦌
Think about it, it would be really scary to suddenly find a YoKai in the middle of the forest. Plus, they have a mystical air that nature simply calls to them.
This is the legend of a great samurai, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who was banished to the mountain to become a monk when he was banished after the death of his father by the Taira dynasty when he was just a child 🏯
Fortunately for him, the tengu 👺 Sojobo took pity on him, and decided to train him as a monk by day and in martial arts at night.
In this scene I wanted to represent his sword training on Mount Kurama 🗻
For inspiration, you can see the forest image I took last Sunday north of Amsterdam✨
I find this story fascinating, how an abandoned child survived in the forest to become one of the most memorable samurai in all of Japan🎌

This is the second of the challenges that I'm going to be painting this week about YoKai👺
