Lola, The Queen Who Burns in Red

Lola, The Queen Who Burns in Red

“The Queen Who Burns in Red” is a tribute in ink to the indomitable greatness of Lola Flores, a woman who was not only an artist, but a symbol: queen without a crown, strength without permission and fire without limit.

In this work, I depict her with her gaze lifted, proud, with a presence that transcends the page. The red fan—opened like an explosion—functions as a moving crown, an explosion of life that envelops the entire composition.

The fluid gestures of the ink build up that highly recognizable character of his:

Temperament, elegance, passion transformed into art. The reddish stains that run across the piece evoke the rhythm of the dance and the pulse of her voice; the black shadows add the drama that always accompanied her on stage.

This piece is part of my Inktober 2025 collection, where I pay homage to figures who, like Lola Flores, broke the mold and ignited their own light. Here, she appears not only as an artist, but as the absolute queen of her own universe, crowned by gesture, movement, and intensity.
