“Praying to Allah” is a painting by the dancer Cristiane Azem in the mosque of Córdoba.

I wanted to portray Cristiane in the temple, in the archetype of a priestess. After all, she has this power to connect dance with the divine, with the mystical.

She is also a scholar of different philosophies and Eastern cultures.

Without a doubt a person with a charisma that captures you and moves you from within.

This is how I wanted to paint Cristiane, connecting the mundane and the divine through art.

An experience that we all experience in part when we feel the connection with the work of art.
